Confidence, Safety, and Partnership for Women — At Any Stage of the Journey

As 2026 begins — a year often associated with the energy of the Fire Horse — I feel that sense of forward movement in a very different way than I once did. Not as urgency or force, but as honest momentum. The kind that comes from clarity, lived experience, and the courage to begin again without rushing. For me, this year feels less about pushing ahead and more about stepping forward with intention — alongside a horse, and in partnership with myself.

After more than 40 years of semi-professional horsemanship — teaching, training, and guiding others — I’ve stepped into a new chapter of my life. This time, it’s about me and my horse — and about sharing the journey with other women who, like me, are rediscovering the quiet pull of horses. It’s about slowing down, savoring partnership, and offering what I’ve learned to women who want to be with their horses safely, confidently, and without pressure..

For a long time, my work with horses was focused on helping others reach their goals. I loved that work, and I still do. But somewhere along the way, I felt a quiet shift. The noise of expectations softened. The urgency faded. What remained was something simpler and deeper — the desire for connection.

Coming Back to the Dream

Bringing home a horse at this stage of life isn’t about competition or proving anything. It isn’t about riding higher, faster, or better than before. It’s about joy. Solace. Presence.

It’s about finding a partner who will walk beside you on the trail, or carry you quietly along the rail in the arena. A horse who meets you where you are — not who you used to be, or who you think you should be.

For many women, the dream of horses never really leaves. It just gets set aside. Life happens. Responsibilities grow. Time passes. And one day, the question surfaces again, softly but persistently:

Is it too late?

Partnership Looks Different Now — And That’s a Gift

This is the work I care most about — helping women slow down, shift perspective, and build meaningful partnerships with their horses. Whether you’re returning to horses, starting later in life, working through fear, or simply wanting a deeper connection, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Through this blog, I share reflections, practical tips, and safety-minded guidance drawn from a lifetime of horsemanship and learning. My hope is to support women — from anywhere — who want to understand their horses better, trust themselves more, and rediscover the joy that brought them to horses in the first place.

If this resonates with you, I invite you to reach out, leave a comment, or simply follow along. Connection starts with curiosity — and sometimes, with seeing things just a little differently.

This season of returning feels aligned with the kind of courage the Fire Horse is said to represent — not loud or reckless, but steady, self-aware, and rooted in trust.

What has your horse been trying to teach you lately?
